A seminar on cooperation in mountain areas will be held in Brussels on November 9th, bringing together EU institutions, Interreg territorial cooperation programmes, stakeholders and representatives of civil society. The event aims to draw attention to the importance of cooperation in mountain areas, point out existing and future EU policies, provide examples of projects and experiences in mountain areas, and give voice to international conventions and partnerships, as well as to the civil society.

Mountain Wilderness International has been invited (together with EUMA, the European Union of Mountaineering Associations)  to represent the latter as a civil society organisation (CSO). An important recognition of the role that Mountain Wilderness has always played in the protection of the natural and cultural heritage of the mountains.

Gabriella Suzanne Vanzan member of the Executive Committee of Mountain Wilderness International will represent the association and will give a presentation regarding the The role of civil society in Session 3: Types of Governance in mountainous regions
