International Mountain Day 2020 with Mountain Wilderness International

December 11, 2020 – 7:00 -8:15 pm CET

Mountain Wilderness International invites you to a virtual event to celebrate International Mountain Day (IMD, designated by the UN in 2003) as a community, by sharing your favourite passage from your favourite author/book on mountains and your thoughts as to how – in your view – mountains have changed over the years and in this exceptional year of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Send us your favourite book excerpt (in writing, max. 200-250 words i.e. a 2-minute read) in English and we will select 10, each of which will be read out loud to the audience by the relevant proposer, and will be the basis for sharing some views, thoughts and reflections.

The event will be held in English and is part of the “Reading Mountains” festival, launched every year by the Alpine Convention to celebrate IMD.

The event will end with a final toast to celebrate IMD 2020, so do not forget to keep your favourite wine/beer/soft drink within reach!
