Francesco CAPPELLARI

Francesco, born in Padua in 1959, is the owner of the Padua-based publishing house Idea Montagna, which specialises in mountain books and guides. A fellow of the Italian Alpine Academic Club (CAAI) and national mountaineering instructor, he has completed more than 1,000 ascents across the Alps in every discipline, and has climbed peaks over 7,000 metres in the Hindu Kush. He is a long-standing member of the Italian chapter of Mountain Wilderness. As a member of the Asian Desk Team, he is responsible for eco-friendly mountaineering courses in Asia, the management of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Mountain Wilderness International and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as the publication of the Swat Mountains guidebook.
