Mauro BOLOGNA

Mauro was born in Trieste in 1991 and is a serving firefighter in Padua. He has a technical and scientific background (surveying qualification plus a degree in environmental and natural sciences and technologies) and field experience on large-scale construction sites, where he learnt to understand the relationship between human activity and the landscape. He is a regular mountaineer: he has climbed over 200 routes in the Dolomites and the Western Alps, on rock, ice and high mountains, and also practises ski mountaineering; he is a qualified mountaineering instructor at the ‘Emilio Comici’ School (SAG, the Trieste branch of the CAI) and secretary of GARS (Group of Mountaineers, Rock Climbers and Skiers). Within the Asian Desk Team, he is responsible for the Upper Swat Park project, the rehabilitation of Lake Mahodand, and the development of mountaineering on the Diwangar Shield.
