Lorenza PRATALI

Lorenza, born in Pisa in 1965, is a cardiologist and clinical researcher specialising in extreme‑environment physiology. She has paired her scientific work with a lifelong commitment to the mountains. A CAI member since age seventeen, she has served as doctor in the Andes and on the CAI’s 70th‑anniversary K2 expedition, and teaches within the Alpi Apuane mountaineering school. Her research spans high‑altitude field studies, telemedicine for remote environments and mountain‑safety outreach, and she contributes to national and international initiatives promoting awareness and prevention in extreme‑altitude activities. Within the Asian Desk Team, she focusses in particular on the Baltoro/K2 project and the development of women’s mountaineering activities.
