Hervé THIEBLEMONT – Deputy Secretary General

French citizen, married, three kids, freshly retired in the middle range Vosges Mountains – East France. I have been working my entire career in agronomy engineering in the seeds sector in Europe and Asia. Lately, I managed teams running development projects for smallholder farming communities leaving in remote areas, e.g. in Laos, Cambodia or Myanmar.

While enjoying mountain outdoor activities, I have always been concerned by keeping the right balance between preserving wild areas and developing mountain territories. I joined MW France 5 years ago and MW International 2 years ago. I am currently helping public organizations like the French Alpine Club or the French Mountaineering Federation to promote environmentally friendly outdoor activities.

As a newly elected Deputy Secretary General, I am very pleased to bring my modest contribution to the Presidency Team and the Governing Board, supporting Anouk, our new Secretary General, in her new endeavour. I bring experience in project and stakeholder management. My holistic, partnership‑driven approach is well suited to managing initiatives that support communities in mountainous regions as well as to work with multicultural teams and engage with stakeholders at international level.
