Anselmo GIOLITTI
Born in Saluzzo, Italy, in 1973 and living in Cuneo, Anselmo has been a member of the Italian Academic Alpine Club (CAAI) since 2017 and a member of the Italian National Alpine and Cave Rescue Corps (CNSAS) since 1999.
Some of the most significant peaks he climbed are, among others, Mont Blanc, Aiguille du Midi, Grand Capucin, Grandes Jorasses, Pilastro Vincent.
Anselmo did several first repeats and openings of new ice and mixed routes, including Monviso Yoghy Gully and Welcome Mister X routes.
As a passionate ice climber he scaled 330 icefalls throughout the Alps and Canada.
Anselmo carried out several treks in the Himalayas, without guides and porters, and in 2023 led a group on a trek in the Upper Swat, Pakistan, as part of the Swat Project with the aim to explore the glacier from the Kochi Khoni Pass to Bashkar Gol, cross a new pass, which was named Daryaft Pass (Discovery Pass ca. 4750 m asl) and reach an unclimbed peak, named Umeed Peak (Hope Peak ca. 5060 m asl).
He was appointed guarantor of Mountain Wilderness International in 2024.
