Laura MORO – Vice President
Born in central Spain, I discovered my love for the mountains later in life, after moving to Catalonia for my studies, where I began practicing outdoor sports, especially rock climbing, trail running, and mountaineering. I haven’t stopped since. After living in several big cities, I eventually moved to a small village in Trentino, northern Italy, to be closer to the mountains.
With a background as a scientist and researcher, I have spent the past few years as an independent consultant developing impact- and community-driven projects. I am particularly passionate about the relationship between human health and the health of the planet.
I have been a member of Mountain Wilderness since 2022, when I joined the Swat Expedition in Pakistan. Before being elected Vice-President of Mountain Wilderness International, I was one of the Mountain Wilderness Italy representatives on the board of Mountain Wilderness International, helping to strengthen the link between both organizations.
I support the Shrinking Glacier project and work on issues related to mountain sports, especially major sporting events. I look forward to contributing to new projects, fostering collaboration across national chapters, and helping Mountain Wilderness speak to a wider audience, especially younger generations.
My goal is to help people understand the beauty and importance of our mountains, and inspire action to protect them.
